Say you had a lot of MINT tokens but no BNB. That all sounds amazing… but there is a downside too. The fees you’ve received become the liquidity you provide later, getting you more fees and so on. People are incentivized to do this because they get a percentage of the transaction fees… and because the fees you get automatically go into your own liquidity pool, then it starts compounding. Pros and Cons of DeFiĭeFi solves this issue by allowing people to provide an equal amount of both tokens… in this case MINT and the Binance coin. On cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and the Binance Coin this isn’t too hard because there are a few platforms that will trade and lots of people to trade with at any time.įor far less popular tokens it can be a huge hassle to find enough liquidity. The buyer and seller have to agree on the price and how much is to be sold. Usually if someone wants to buy crypto… they have have to find a seller. The important thing to note here is that you have to have the same amount of value in BNB than you do in MINT tokens, ie, if you have $10 worth of MINT tokens then you need to have at least $10 worth of BNB.īy providing liquidity you are providing both sides of the pairing… both MINT and BNB. If you’re not familiar with DeFi then this might be a fairly painless way to get involved. What to do with your Mint Club airdrop? Add it to the liquidity pool and earn transaction fees! This will take you to PancakeSwap where you can swap MINT for BNB… it’s really the only pairing at the moment.Īdd your MINT tokens to the liquidity pool Personally I can’t imagine a situation where the MINT token does not increase in price as more people discover just how super easy it is to create their own token (community, governance, social, etc) – but if you’re keen to sell off your airdrop and be done with MINT, then click on the little PancakeSwap button on the Mint Club Explorer page. You can see the current price of MINT in the Mint Club Explorer page… Source What to do with your Mint Club airdrop? Sell it! Sell your MINT tokens for BNB (Binance Coin) Add your MINT tokens to the liquidity pool.Let’s go through some options… ( clicking any of these dot points will zoom you to the relevant section) So hopefully you’ve found them… now what? If you don’t have MINT listed in MetaMask (if that was your wallet you initially chose) at all, click on the little FireFox button in the Mint Club Explorer to add it. I didn’t have to do anything… they just appeared. For me that was MetaMask and so I was able to see my airdropped MINT tokens in Binance Smart Chain network. If you haven’t looked yet, check out the BSC wallet that you attached. I encouraged people to apply for the airdrop that would have paid out around the first week of July. It feels like every day something new and exciting has appeared. It launched at the start of this month… and the progress and development as well as the community uptake of this platform have just been incredible. The boa then begins the leisurely process of unfolding and stretching its jaw and swallowing the prey whole, usually headfirst. With each exhale, the snake takes up more space. But a boa doesn’t actually crush the prey and break its bones-it just squeezes tightly so that the prey’s lungs cannot expand, and it suffocates. Putting the squeeze on dinner. A boa is a constrictor, meaning that it grabs its prey with its teeth and quickly wraps its coiled body around the prey and squeezes. All in all, a boa would rather avoid people than go looking for trouble! The ones that live in forests blend into the leaf litter on the ground or the bark of a tree to stay hidden. The ones that live in dry environments usually hang out in rock crevices or in underground burrows made by other wildlife. But since they don’t have to chase their food, they don’t need to travel quickly.īoas are found in a variety of habitats, including open woodlands, like the rainbow boa, and rocky, semi-desert scrublands, like the Egyptian sand boa. They can’t move very fast, though-only about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) per hour on open ground. This type of movement works on the ground as well as in trees, and boas can even climb smooth surfaces. This is accomplished by stiffening the ribs to provide support, then lifting a set of ventral (on the belly) scales and moving them forward so the loose ends grip the surface, pushing the snake ahead. The straight and narrow. Because of the large size many boas can reach, they move by traveling forward in a straight line, which is known as rectilinear progression. They are not venomous, and many do not live in jungles. That’s probably because these big snakes make a big impression! But boas are usually pretty quiet and calm and don’t deserve their nasty reputation. Not the bad guys. Boas often appear in movies and stories that take place in the jungle, usually as the villain sliding menacingly through the trees. One of the biggest differences is that pythons lay eggs while boas give birth to live young, although some sand boas and the Round Island boa of Mauritius lay eggs. Pythons have one more bone in their head than boas do and some additional teeth, and pythons are found in Africa, Asia, and Australia while boas live on those continents as well as North, Central, and South America. These snakes have some things in common: they are constrictors, killing their prey by wrapping around it and suffocating it, and they are considered primitive snakes with two lungs (most snakes have only one) and remnants of hind legs and pelvic bones.īut they have differences, too. That leaves two groups, the boas and the pythons. The first thing to note is that the anaconda is a kind of boa, not a separate type of snake. Boas, pythons, and anacondas: What's the difference? Because boa constrictors, reticulated pythons, and anacondas are some of the biggest snakes in the world, many people get confused about which is which. Working with an extensive roster of growers – most of whom work with organic practices, and all of whom farm sustainably – Head has flipped his sourcing priorities, with 80 per cent of his fruit now coming from the Eden Valley, and 20 percent from the Barossa proper. He also makes two everyday ‘Head Red’ bottlings, a flinty and delicate Eden Valley Riesling, a barely blushing and bone-dry rosé, grenache and mataro from ancient vines and his pinnacle shiraz, ‘The Redhead’ from russet soils on Mengler’s Hill in the Barossa Ranges. His riff on his surname with ‘The Blonde’ and ‘The Brunette’, both shiraz, are also equally a paean to the soil types of the Northern Rhône, while his benchmarking for grenache will always be channelled through his obsession with Château Rayas. What does suffuse Head’s style is his admiration for the wines of the Rhône Valley. Indeed, Head’s wines are not easy to pin down outside of this, as techniques and processes vary from site to site, from blend to blend, from vintage to vintages. He dialled back new oak use, employed larger vessels and worked with wild ferments, with whole bunch use being a leading feature, although the wines rarely look overtly stemmy. Owning no vineyards himself, Head has worked tirelessly with growers to produce exemplary low-yielding fruit that reveals a ripe varietal expression and reflection of site with a balanced level of intensity and alcohol. Indeed, while some similarly minded makers were reframing South Australia’s dominant styles in extreme fashion, Head’s mandate was always to celebrate what had come before, but to not do so blindly. That in no way meant that Head thought all was broke in the Barossa, far from it, but just that it needed an avant-garde assault to shake up assumptions, to test new waters. His ‘The Contrarian’ perhaps best laid out the jagged edge of Head’s planned assault, with a reversing of assumptions of how shiraz needed to be made. Head entered a pretty traditional Barossa market of the time, with a still seemingly unquenchable thirst for the ‘blood and guts’ style of red wines. With an urban wine apprenticeship on the mercantile side, at the legendary Ultimo Wine centre and at an auction house in Sydney, Head eventually got his hands dirty working seasons at Torbreck, Tyrrell’s, Cirillo and Laughing Jack, before pitching into his own fledgling Barossa Valley endeavour in 2006, with the first release under the head imprint hitting the market in 2008. It’s just that it was with a Bachelor of Biochemistry from the University of Sydney, rather than your more typical wine science degree. Head won the Young Gun of Wine People’s Choice Award in 2013.Īlex Head entered the wine game qualified. His wines are Barossa through and through, but there’s a more elegant pitch here, one where red fruits tussle with black and freshness is prized over raw power. The first Head wines hit the market in 2006. Lured over from the fine wine side of the game, Alex Head left behind roles in an auction house, wine merchant and importer to get his hands dirty in the rugged soils of the Barossa Valley. If the software is badly arranged enough that the admin knows the password instead of it being generated and sent to the target user without the admin being any the wiser, then it may be that the “force change on first login” option is missing too. The danger this poses can be reduced by forcing the user to choose a new password on first login, before any information is entered, but it still isn't good design to even need this mitigation. The main issue this behaviour-as-designed introduces is one new user being able to guess another new user's password. While still not good design it is at least mitigated somewhat in practise. > where the admin knowing their password is a requirementįor creating fresh accounts this is less of an issue than once the account has access to real data that has already been entered, so all the admin can get by knowing the password at this point is the information they already had to create the profile and account with. In this tradition can be inscribed the sociology of generations, developed by Karl Mannheim, who, against Marx, sought to understand the emancipatory ethos no longer through the struggle of social classes, but in terms of conflictive interaction and mutual influence between social generations, whose birth supposes the connection between age groups, conformation of a common identity and socio-structural conditions. With this he recovered the intuition of Wilhelm Dilthey, who sought to rehabilitate – against the reduction of time to the purely quantitative and external (that of simultaneity) – the qualitative and internal or experiential time, which admits of non-simultaneity. Pinder refers to the coexistence, at the same time, of different generations and artistic styles. The phrase itself was coined at the beginning of the 20th century by the German art historian Wilhelm Pinder, and later introduced into the Marxist tradition by Ernst Bloch. This idea is associated with Marxism and has had repercussions in many areas of knowledge, from structuralism – where a debt is recognized not only vis-a-vis Marx but also vis-a-vis Hegel and Bakhtin – and its attempt to introduce a dynamic dimension into language as a system, up to the sociology of generations and the sociology of modernization, passing through aesthetics and political thought, among others. The imagined buildings are tactical micro-interventions, not a strategic attempt to find objectively the best solution for these places. The non-simultaneity of the simultaneous ( Ungleichzeitigkeit des Gleichzeitigen) refers to the complex idea – put in formal and abstract terms – of a coexistence, in a same time (the simultaneous), of things that express or represent different times or that have different dynamics of development (the non-simultaneity). The choice of sites isĬritique towards current socio-economic conditions, in which only certain types of development pass in a central area like this, resulting in socially and aesthetically homogenic environments. This thesis is on the thin line between speculation and seriousness. The home-archipelago is characterized by constant change, development and regression, construction and demolition. When the huts finish their life cycle, they will be brought back to the mother house, dismantled and reused or burned in a large furnace. It is surrounded by glass towers, making it look like a horizontal sky-skraper between the vertical ones. The House of Day is a workshop and kitchen, a mother house where all the other little huts are built and then carried around the city and planted into its cavities like parasites. The center of the archipelago is The House of Day, a bigger building situated between soviet era garages. The imaginary home-archipelago consists of small ascetic huts scattered in the center of Tallinn, in which various everyday activities take place. Not an intentional community, but rather a collective of individuals. The work concludes with an archipelagic vision of collective living in the center of Tallinn for a loosely defined group of architects, artists, builders, junk collectors, bricoleurs. I believe it is important to imagine as many different hyper-local visions of alternative presents and futures, as possible, while avoiding one-size-fits-all solutions. Is the concept of utopia too infected with negative connotations, orĬan it even today be used to refer to dreaming about different everyday life? Based on Ernst Bloch's notion of concrete utopia, I propose the concept of grassroots utopia – a kind of utopia that springs from the grassroots and represents one specific collective's dreams about its own future. These thoughts led me to utopian dreaming as a means to create alternative visions of home and co-habitation. Thus, we need more different representations of home and everyday life. The spaces we live in shape us and make us internalize assumptions about how everyday life “is done”. According to evolutionary biologists, the defining characteristics of humans would never have evolved if we had lived for millions of years in conditions as monotonous and unchallenging as the space that surrounds us today. In addition to heteronormative and chrononormative notions, a normative understanding of bodily existence and movement dominates the everyday spaces. Why do we live the way we do? A life model that developed around the Industrial Revolution, is still so widespread that it may appear to be biological in nature. Questioning the nuclear-family-based model of life and the accompanying spatial typology, the thesis also challenges normative understanding of bodily existence and movement, which dominates our daily spaces. “Practical Utopias” is a study of everyday life, utopian dreaming, everyday aesthetics and bodily experience.
